The Housing & Adults' Finance team and Children's Services Finance team provide effective and efficient finance and accounting functions in conjunction with budget holders from the service departments.

They work in partnership with officers from Homes for Islington (the Housing ALMO), CEA (the Education service) and the PCT (Adults' Services), as well as with colleagues from corporate finance.

Responsibilities:

+ Leading a professional team and liaising with service managers to carry out the finance function effectively

+ Preparing and compiling revenue estimates, the capital programme and monthly monitoring reports as well as closing the accounts

+ Developing and maintaining effective systems and procedures

+ Acting as the finance lead for special projects throughout the decision making process

Requirements:

+ Fully or part qualified CCAB, with relevant experience of budget planning,
monitoring and closing of accounts

+ Local government experience from either a service or corporate finance directorate

+ Strong communication and organisational skills, together with the ability to manage a team
